Your First Visit
What to Expect
On your first visit, Dr. Walker will do an examination and possibly take x-rays. She will also ask you various questions about your lifestyle, eating habits, work life to establish history and help determine the root cause of your pain. You will receive therapies along with your first adjustment.
X-rays
We take and develop x-rays on site, so don't worry about getting sent to another facility for one! Although Dr. Walker is not a radiologist, she has taken several courses and received certifications that qualify her to read and interpret x-ray films.
Your First Adjustment
Dr. Walker will palpate along the area with her hand. This helps feel where the joints are not moving. She will then ask you to take a deep breath and as you release the air, her hands will perform a thrusting movement to the part of your body she is adjusting. Therapies
Dr. Walker may use therapies during your first visit and subsequent visits. These may include:
- Electrical muscle stimulation
- Thermotherapy/Cryotherapy
- Traction
- Therapeutic Exercises
- Myofascial release
- Neuromuscular Re-Education
